Sephora Deluxe Perfume Sampler Review

sephora deluxe perfume sampler review
Recently I was on Sephora, buying another Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Definer, my favorite tool for my eyebrows!!!, because I was almost out, but I wanted to buy something else so I didn’t have to pay for shipping (the trap all stores suck us into). Well, I’ve been wanting to try out some new perfumes, so I decided to purchase the Sephora Favorites Deluxe Perfume Sampler. I figured I didn’t want to spend a boatload on a perfume I didn’t love, so I would try out a bunch. Here are some of my thoughts in this perfume sampler review.

You purchase the sampler for $65 (most of the full size come close to this price or more). The samples range from 0.10 oz to 0.24 oz. Definitely something you’ll get at least a couple wears out of, so that you can really test that you like it.

Atelier Cologne – Clémentine California

The sunny composition, built around Clémentine from California, sets off the sweet, citrusy fruit with green notes of juniper and the tang of mandarin.

The top notes include Clementine from California, mandarin from Italy, and Juniper Berries from Macedonia. The heart notes include Star Anise from China, Sichuan Pepper from China, and Basil from Egypt. The Base notes are Vetiver from Haiti, Sandalwood from New Caledonia, and Cypress from France.

Review (5/5): I LOVE this perfume. I wasn’t necessarily expecting it, but it was fresh and fruity and sunk into my skin beautifully. I felt so girly, but not too sweet wearing this and it lasted beautifully.

Chloé – Chloé

Capturing the spirit of women, the Chloé vision is not about one singular woman, but rather about the rich and varied personalities of all Chloé women. This fresh, smooth floral fragrance evokes sublime powdery rose. The effect is chic, comfortable, and entirely addictive.

The notes include Pink Peony, Freesia, Lychee, Magnolia Flower, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Honey.

Review (4/5): This one is nice and light and floral, however it doesn’t feel like me when I wear it.

Dolce & Gabbana – Light Blue

A fruity floral scent that speaks of sun-drenched days and nights that linger long in memory.

The notes include Sicilian Cedar and White Rose.

Review (5/5): A beautiful combo of the outdoors and flowery. This one reminds me of a great night at the beach. This is a beautiful perfume.

Elizabeth and James – Nirvana Bourbon

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon is a provocative blend of sultry Vanilla Bourbon, Oakwood, and a hint of Tuberose for a bold, oriental woody scent with intoxicating confidence.

The notes include Oak Wood, Vanilla Bourbon, and Tuberose.

Review (4/5): This scent I feel really represented me. I felt it was cool, but still womanly. I felt hot and sexy wearing this. I’m not how sure it’s a day time scent, but I loved this scent so much. I wish it lasted a little longer on the skin.

Elizabeth and Jame – Nirvana Rose

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose is a seductive floral blend embodying the heart of a dark rose with notes of Rose de Mai, Geranium, and Vetiver for a sultry, refined scent with intrigue.

The notes include Rose de Mai, Geranium, and Vetiver.

Review (1/5): Bleh, I was not a fan of this one. It did not smell fresh and had an older smell to it. I couldn’t even bear to put it on my skin. NOT. A. FAN.

Gucci – Bamboo

The modern Gucci woman shares bamboo’s characteristics of strength and confidence with her innate femininity and poise. She is feminine and sensual yet strong and commanding.

The notes include Sandalwood, Tahitian Vanilla, Amber, Casablanca Lily, Orange Blossom, and Ylang Ylang.

Review (5/5): I’m a big fan of the fresh and floral combo and this one gives you that. Again, I feel beautiful in this perfume!

Stella McCartney – POP

In the moment, bold, and irreverent, POP is the scent of a new generation, who are coming into their own, true to themselves and are about to POP. A unique scent, it combines the vibrant floralcy of  tuberose with sandalwood, echoing the multi-faceted character of the new generation of Stella McCartney icons.

The notes include Tomato Leaves, Violet leaves, Green Mandarin, Violet, Tuberose, Plumeria, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and Musks.

Review (3/5): This is an interesting one. I think it has a nice scent, but can be a little strong. Something I would wear now and again, but not my favorite.

Tocca – Cleopatra

Inspired by the Mediterranean seductress, Cleopatra captivates the senses. It is infused with the crisp, fresh scent of juicy grapefruit and soothing cucumber used in the legendary queen’s beauty rituals.

The notes include Bitter Grapefruit, Lush Greens, Cassis Bud, White Jasmine, Peach Nectar, Tuberose, Warm Patchouli, Golden Amber, and Rich Vanilla Musk.

Review (2/5): This one smells a little funky to me, I’m not sure what it was. It does not wear nicely on my skin though.

Tocca – Giulietta

Inspired by the love story of Italian director Frederico Fellini and Giulietta Masina, Giulietta is a sweet floral scent reminiscent of their holidays spent on the Island of Corsica.

The notes include Bulgarian Rose, Ylang Ylang, Green Apple, Pink Tulips, Lily of the Valley, Iris Pallida, Vanilla Orchid, Lilac, Heliotrope, Cedarwood, Musk, Amber, and Sandalwood.

Review (5/5): This is the perfect combo of flowery and fresh. I love wearing this, it makes me feel so beautiful!

Viktor & Rolf – FlowerBomb

This floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality.

The notes include Sambac jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, and Patchouli.

Review (3/5): I was surprised that I didn’t like this one as much because I’ve heard everyone rave about it. I think it is too floraly for me! I would still wear it occasionally, but it is not my favorite.

A great thing about buying this sampler is that it includes a voucher that you take into the store in exchange for a FREE full-size perfume of the choices above. That means you get a bunch of samples, which let’s be honest will last me forever anyway, plus a full-sized of your favorite for cheaper than a full-sized. If you like perfume…this is a steal.

This is a limited time offer from Sephora, so if you are looking to try out some new perfumes (or you know one of the ones in the kit is your favorite) I’d highly recommend checking the sampler out!

Note: Some links in the post may contain affiliate links, which means I would get a small portion if you purchase from my link. If you would rather not, no hard feelings friend! I only recommend products I love and would/do purchase myself. All products mentioned in this post were purchased by me.

  1. I’ve seen them run this deal a few times and always consider it, because I’m really picky with scents. Certain scents give me terrible headaches that lead to migraines.
I am surprised you didn’t like Flowerbomb, it’s my go to for date nights and special occasions. But I only spritz it a bit…think the spray and shimmy through version. LOL!

Do you maybe have guide for woman types? What can we boys do to find the right one for our girl? How could we know which type fits for the girl, based on their skin they might prefer flower, herb, sweet, … any reference on this ? thanks Dieter

    1. That’s a great question! I think it really is a personal preference and what you think wears well on the skin. I would look to see what kind of perfumes she currently wears and from there you can see what types are similar (or buy the same ones that she knows she loves!). I will have to do more research into this and see if there is a certain way to know what scents will work well with your skin type!

  12. Sometimes I more excited to get samples from Sephora over what I’ve bought or ordered!

  13. That box is my favorite! They always have such great perfumes! I love the Chloe.

  14. My favourite perfume is Versace Time for Pleasure! So sad they discontinued it.
